Accuracy and corrections
Automated production does not lower the standard of accuracy, and it does not transfer the blame for an error. This page explains what we do when we get something wrong, and how to tell us.
How to report an error
Write to editor@africasport.news with the address of the page and what is wrong with it. A sentence is enough. Supporting evidence helps but is not required to get a look.
Reports are read every day. You will get an answer whether or not we agree with you.
What happens next
A factual error is fixed on the page as soon as it is confirmed. The correction is stated on the item itself: what was wrong, what it now says, and when it changed. We do not edit an error away silently.
Where a report has been repeated in the French or Arabic edition, the correction is applied to all three at once.
Removal
A report is taken down rather than corrected only when its central claim turns out to be unfounded. In that case the page states that it was withdrawn and why, and the address keeps working.
Systematic faults
When an error comes from the way the desk works rather than from one story, the process is changed, not just the page. Repeat mistakes of the same kind are treated as a fault in the system.
