FSF clears 121.4 million FCFA in football debts
The FSF has settled 121.4 million FCFA in outstanding football payments dating from 2021 to 2025.
The Senegalese Football Federation has settled 121.4 million FCFA in unpaid domestic football obligations, clearing claims that had accumulated over four years. The move removes a financial burden tied to prize payments and leaves the current leadership of the Senegalese Professional Football League with no remaining debts to the beneficiaries concerned.
The outstanding sum covered rewards for Ligue 2 champions and runners-up, as well as payments due to winners of the League Cup. The federation’s settlement was announced during the LSFP’s ordinary general assembly on Saturday, where the league reviewed its financial position and preparations for the next season.
The LSFP also reported a surplus of 78.6 million FCFA for the 2025-26 season. That result gives the professional league a stronger financial position after the clearance of the accumulated claims. Babacar Ndiaye, the LSFP president, also pointed to efforts to reduce the cost of organising competitions, indicating that financial control has become part of the league’s wider restructuring work.
The settled debts and positive seasonal balance provide the LSFP with a cleaner starting point for its next campaign. Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 are due to open on October 3. The league now plans to continue its organisational work while preparing the two competitions under the calendar presented at the assembly.
