Tapha Tine revives his verbal feud with Modou Lô
Tapha Tine has answered Modou Lô’s old taunt and confirmed he backed Sa Thiès in their recent bout.
Tapha Tine has revived his verbal dispute with Modou Lô, answering remarks that had remained with him since their previous confrontation. The Baol Mbollo leader used a television appearance to address the former king of the arenas and to explain his position during Modou Lô’s recent contest with Sa Thiès.
Tine said he and Modou Lô now belong to separate camps, but he nevertheless took a clear position in that bout. He supported Sa Thiès and said he wanted the younger wrestler to win, stressing that he was acting as a fan rather than as a competitor. That support has now become part of the renewed exchange between the two heavyweight figures.
The dispute centres on a metaphor previously used by Modou Lô, who had likened Tine to a bull leaving its enclosure for the slaughterhouse. The comparison referred to Tine’s defeat in his last fight and was remembered by the Baol Mbollo wrestler. Tine has now reversed the image, arguing that Modou Lô was ultimately the one who ended up in that position.
His response confirms his alignment with Sa Thiès in the recent meeting with Modou Lô and adds a fresh chapter to the verbal rivalry surrounding three established names in Senegalese wrestling. The latest exchange is centred on past taunts, camp loyalties and the outcome implied by their recent sporting history.
