Spain secure a third straight Nations League victory

Spain defeated the Czech Republic 3-1 to extend their perfect Nations League start to three consecutive wins.

Spain have made it three consecutive victories in the Nations League, strengthening their position at the start of the competition. The reigning world champions followed their 2-1 win over England by overcoming the Czech Republic 3-1, preserving their perfect record in this sequence of fixtures.

La Roja took control early when Lamine Yamal opened the scoring in the sixth minute. Spain continued to dominate the match and doubled their advantage through Rodri in the 35th minute. The Czech Republic responded after the interval, with Jiri Slama reducing the deficit in the 69th minute and giving the home side a route back into the contest.

Spain avoided a late setback by restoring their two-goal lead before the final whistle. Mikel Merino scored in the 89th minute to settle the match and complete the 3-1 victory. The result means Spain have now beaten England and the Czech Republic during this winning run, while their three wins from three matches confirm an unbeaten start to their Nations League campaign.

The result also underlines Spain’s ability to turn early control into points. Yamal’s opening goal gave them an immediate advantage, Rodri extended it before half-time and Merino’s late strike ended any prospect of a Czech recovery. Spain’s current form leaves them with a clean winning record after three games and adds another convincing result to their campaign.
