Aigles de la Médina begin CAF qualification against USFAS

Senegal champions Aigles de la Médina meet Mali’s USFAS in the opening UFOA-A qualifier in Gambia.

The Aigles de la Médina begin their bid for a place in the final phase of the CAF Women’s Champions League when they meet USFAS of Mali in the opening match of the UFOA-A qualifying tournament in Gambia. As Senegal’s champions, the Aigles enter a regional competition in which only one of the six participating clubs will secure passage to the continental stage.

Kick-off is scheduled for 15:00 on Tuesday. The Senegalese side and USFAS are in Group A alongside Sierra Leone’s Mogbwemo Queens and Liberia’s Determine Girls. Their first meeting gives both teams an early opportunity to establish themselves in the group and move towards the tournament’s sole qualifying place.

The fixture also renews a contest from the previous edition. USFAS won the 2025 UFOA-A qualifying tournament in Dakar, finishing ahead of the Aigles de la Médina. The Senegalese champions now face the same opponent at the start of another qualification campaign, with the result carrying added significance because of that earlier outcome.

The other first-day game is in Group B, where Berewuleng FC face AS Bolonta at 18:00. For the Aigles, the immediate task is the opening Group A game against a side that denied them regional honours last time.
