Jocelyn Blanchard faces internal probe at Troyes

Troyes has opened an internal investigation after women at the club reported alleged sexist conduct by Jocelyn Blanchard.

Troyes’ sporting leadership is under scrutiny after director of sport Jocelyn Blanchard became the subject of an internal investigation. The inquiry follows reports of alleged sexist conduct involving women working at the Ligue 1 club, putting his position under uncertainty while the process continues.

The promoted side entered the international break after three consecutive defeats. Blanchard will also miss Troyes’ trip to Dijon on Friday for the club’s only friendly match during the break, adding to the immediate disruption around the case.

Several women at Troyes have complained about remarks described as sexist and gestures considered inappropriate toward colleagues. The complaints created unease inside the club. Elisa Sicking-Bressler, City Football Group’s safeguarding official, travelled to the Aube as the organisation’s procedure was activated.

That safeguarding system applies to the group’s clubs, including Troyes, and is designed to protect minors and vulnerable people. It includes an anonymous channel for raising concerns with management. Troyes has not made a public statement about the investigation. Blanchard, 54, previously played for Juventus, and the inquiry will determine the next stage of his future with the club.
