Aigles de la Médina book UFOA-A semi-final place

The Senegalese champions recover from an opening defeat to reach the last four of the CAF women’s Champions League zone.

The Aigles de la Médina have reached the semi-finals of the CAF Women’s Champions League preliminary tournament for the UFOA-A zone. The qualification keeps the Senegalese champions in the race to win the regional competition and secure a place in the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League.

The Aigles responded to their opening Group A defeat by beating Liberia’s Determine Girls 1-0 on Monday. Aïssatou Fall scored the decisive goal in the second round of matches, giving the Senegalese side the result required to advance to the last four. Their campaign had started with a 1-0 loss to USFAS of Bamako, making the victory an important recovery in the group.

Group A contains the Aigles, USFAS and Determine Girls. The preliminary tournament features six teams divided into two groups of three, with the leading two sides in each group progressing to the semi-finals. The winner of Group A will meet the runner-up from Group B, while the Group B leader will face the second-placed team from Group A.

Group B is made up of Berewuleng FC of Gambia, Guinea’s AS Bolonta and Mogbwemo Queens of Sierra Leone. The competition continues through September 6, when the UFOA-A winner will be confirmed. That regional champion will then qualify for the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League.
