Charles-André Raux-Yao under close watch from Renard

The 24-year-old Eyüpspor midfielder is being considered for a first Côte d’Ivoire call-up under Hervé Renard.

Charles-André Raux-Yao has moved into contention for a place in Côte d’Ivoire’s squad after drawing close attention from new head coach Hervé Renard. The Eyüpspor midfielder is being assessed ahead of Renard’s first selection since taking charge of the Elephants, with a first international call-up now a possibility.

Raux-Yao, 24, has made a strong start to the season in Turkey. He played a key part in two opposing dismissals during Eyüpspor’s recent matches against Gaziantep and Rizespor, adding to his growing influence in the team. He joined the club in January and scored twice during his first half-season there.

The former Versailles and Stade Briochin player has since established himself as a regular starter. His performances have kept him firmly on Renard’s radar as the coach begins to shape his group for upcoming fixtures. Raux-Yao has previously expressed his wish to represent Côte d’Ivoire.

Renard is due to announce his first squad on Wednesday at around 14:30. Raux-Yao could be included during the current international break, although a first invitation may instead come in November.
