Chérif Diallo joins Lusitanos Saint-Maur after Bordeaux
Chérif Diallo has left Bordeaux without an official appearance and joined Lusitanos Saint-Maur in National 1.
Chérif Diallo has found a new club at Lusitanos Saint-Maur after his brief stay at Bordeaux came to an end. The move gives the Senegalese winger an opportunity to resume his progress in France’s National 1 after a Bordeaux spell that never reached the competitive-match stage.
Diallo arrived at Bordeaux during the summer and was involved in the team’s pre-season preparations. He scored in a friendly, but did not play an official game for the Girondins. His contract was terminated after only a few weeks, with uncertainty surrounding the Bordeaux club contributing to his departure.
Saint-Maur have added Diallo to their squad for the new National 1 season and confirmed his arrival as a winger. The transfer should provide a clearer path to playing time following the interruption at Bordeaux, where his involvement was limited to preparation work and an exhibition match.
Diallo already has experience of the French football system. He began his development at La Roche Vendée before moving on to the Voltigeurs de Châteaubriant. His latest move keeps him in the country’s lower divisions and offers a fresh setting in which to continue that development. For Bordeaux, his departure closes an association that lasted only through the summer build-up and produced no official appearance; for Lusitanos, it brings in a player seeking a more stable next step.
