Cristiano Ronaldo offered Portugal return for November

Portugal coach Jorge Jesus says Cristiano Ronaldo will be selected for November if the Al-Nassr forward wants to return.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been given a route back into Portugal’s squad for the November international window, but the decision rests with the Al-Nassr forward. Coach Jorge Jesus has indicated that Ronaldo will be selected if he chooses to rejoin the national team, leaving a return possible after last week’s dispute.

The tension followed Ronaldo’s early departure from the previous camp. He had been left on the bench for the first match against Norway despite assurances from the coach, and subsequent public comments from Jesus deepened the disagreement. Ronaldo then confirmed his exit in a message and returned to Saudi Arabia.

Jesus has since presented the episode as a misunderstanding rather than a lasting break. He believes it can be resolved before the next squad announcement and says there is no resentment between the two sides. Ronaldo, 41, therefore remains eligible for a recall, provided he wants to come back.

João Cancelo has also backed the forward’s importance to Portugal. The defender, who scored the decisive goal against Norway, described Ronaldo as the team’s unquestioned captain and a defining figure in Portuguese football. His comments underline the standing Ronaldo retains within the squad as the November selection approaches.
