Serigne Afia Ndao attracts European and Saudi interest

The Senegalese defender has drawn attention from several clubs after training with Ipswich Town and Crystal Palace reserves.

Serigne Afia Ndao is being followed by several European and Saudi Arabian clubs, increasing the possibility of a move abroad for the Be Sport Academy defender. The 2025 UFOA-A U17 champion has not been linked with any confirmed transfer, but his recent opportunities in England have widened his profile beyond Senegal.

Ndao trained with the reserve teams of Ipswich Town and Crystal Palace and also took part in trials with the two English clubs. His displays during those sessions reportedly drew particular interest from their technical staffs. Newcastle United, Wolverhampton, Burnley, Benfica and Saudi Arabian club Al Qadsiah are among the teams monitoring the young defender.

His development could receive another boost through Senegal’s preparations for the next U17 World Cup in Qatar. Ndao is expected to be among the players considered for the squad being prepared by Lamine Sané. Selection for the tournament would give him another opportunity to attract clubs watching young talent. Even without World Cup participation, the interested teams could invite him for additional trials.

For now, the situation remains at the scouting and assessment stage. Ndao’s sessions with Ipswich and Crystal Palace have generated attention, while the wider list of clubs reflects growing interest in the Senegalese youth international. None of the reported approaches has yet resulted in an official transfer announcement.
