David Pagou changes Cameroon XI for Congo game

Cameroon will face Congo with a heavily revised starting lineup after coach David Pagou made several changes to the team. Mahamadou Nagida, who impressed during the opening round, drops to the substitutes’ bench, while Lilian Paul Njoh is brought into the XI.

Junior Tchamadeu also starts after supplying an assist against Comoros, taking the place of Saidou Moubarak. Ryan Fosso is selected alongside Danny Namaso. The attacking selection is particularly notable because none of the forwards called up by Pagou has been named in the starting team.

The coach has maintained the same defensive structure, with Kotto, Keller and Duplexe Tchamba continuing together at the back. Arthur Avom and David Roy Nyengue are included in midfield. The changes therefore affect the attacking and central areas while Pagou preserves continuity in defence.

Cameroon will begin against Congo’s Red Devils at 8 p.m. The selection gives the team a different look from its previous outing, with several players who featured prominently against Comoros now replaced or moved to the bench. The announced XI puts responsibility on Fosso, Namaso and the revised midfield to shape Cameroon’s play from the start.
