FC Entente wins Marandallah social cohesion tournament

FC Entente beat FC Fraternité on penalties to win Marandallah’s fifth social cohesion tournament.

FC Entente are the winners of Marandallah’s fifth social cohesion tournament after overcoming FC Fraternité in the final on Saturday, 12 September 2026. The competition brought together young players from across the sub-prefecture, making the title the closing result of an event designed to strengthen ties between villages.

The final at the Kpesso village ground ended goalless after regulation time. FC Entente then prevailed 5-3 in the penalty shootout. Eight teams took part, with their squads formed from players representing 15 villages.

The tournament’s organisers mixed players from different communities instead of maintaining separate village teams. That structure was intended to encourage young people to build friendships beyond their home villages and reduce the risk of disputes that can follow inter-village matches.

Tiené N’da, known as Cisco and president of the organising committee and Marandallah’s sports committee, said the matches also carried messages against violence, drug use, cheating, theft and idleness. The event was presented as a way to give young people healthy activities during the holidays while using football to support social cohesion. Tiené Inza, representing sponsor Fofana Inza, welcomed the competition and pledged continued backing for youth development and awareness initiatives.
