Guingamp deny Nantes win in Poirier’s first match
Nantes earned their first Ligue 2 point under Grégory Poirier but remain bottom after a 3-3 draw at Guingamp.
Nantes remain bottom of Ligue 2 despite taking their first point under Grégory Poirier, who began his tenure with a late collapse at Guingamp. The result extended the club’s difficult start after Michel Der Zakarian’s dismissal and left Guingamp 11th in the table.
Guingamp appeared in control after Samir Ben Brahim opened the scoring in the ninth minute and Donatien Gomis added a second six minutes later. Nantes responded through Wilitty Younoussa, who reduced the deficit in the 23rd minute before completing his brace four minutes after half-time to make it 2-2.
Antoine Joujou then put Nantes ahead in the 85th minute, offering Poirier the prospect of a winning debut after the team had looked set for a fourth consecutive defeat. That advantage disappeared deep into stoppage time when Johann Lepenant conceded a penalty.
Dylan Louiserre’s spot-kick was saved by Nantes goalkeeper Dupé, but Gomis followed up to score in the eighth added minute. The draw gives Nantes one point from four matches and keeps them at the foot of the standings, while Guingamp move forward from the encounter in 11th place.
