Jordi Meeus joins Lidl-Trek after Champs-Elysées win

Lidl-Trek will add Jordi Meeus to its sprint group for the 2027 and 2028 seasons, bringing in a former Tour de France stage winner. The 28-year-old Belgian is leaving Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe after racing with the team since joining in 2021.

Meeus has 19 professional victories, including three in 2026. Three of those wins have come at WorldTour level: the 2025 Tour de Suisse stage, the 2025 Copenhagen Sprint and the final stage of the 2021 Tour de France, when he won on the Champs-Elysées ahead of Jasper Philipsen, Dylan Groenewegen and Mads Pedersen.

His move creates a strong sprint line-up at Lidl-Trek, where he will reunite with Mads Pedersen and race alongside Jonathan Milan. Meeus is ready to support Milan in some events while seeking opportunities of his own in selected classics. He also knows several Lidl-Trek riders, including Lennard Kämna, Patrick Konrad and Matteo Sobrero, after sharing a team with them in recent seasons.

Meeus has followed Lidl-Trek since childhood and sees the move as a chance to work in a different role and continue developing. He will make his first appearances in the team’s colours in 2027.
