PSG winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia says Luis Enrique’s guidance has strengthened his ambition to win the Ballon d’Or.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia now has the Ballon d’Or in his sights after a rapid rise with Paris Saint-Germain. The Georgia international credits Luis Enrique with helping him develop and believes the coach’s guidance can support his pursuit of the game’s most prestigious individual award.
Kvaratskhelia joined PSG around a year and a half ago and has already collected major honours. He was part of the team that won the Champions League last season and was named the competition’s best player. His campaign included 10 goals and six assists, giving substance to his ambition of competing for the Ballon d’Or.
The winger describes his relationship with Enrique as strong and built on mutual respect. He says the PSG coach continually challenges him to improve and offers advice that helps his progression. Kvaratskhelia also considers Enrique approachable and said he takes pride in working under him and in the coach’s methods.
He has extended that praise to the wider PSG staff, describing their work positively and stressing the importance of listening to them and carrying out their instructions properly. For Kvaratskhelia, Enrique’s influence has made PSG a setting in which he can continue moving towards the highest individual recognition in football.
