Kylian Mbappé and Ester Expósito were targeted by intrusive questions from the celebrity press in Madrid, keeping attention on the footballer’s private life after Real Madrid’s latest win. The episode followed the couple’s appearance together in the Spanish capital on Sunday.

Mbappé had just helped Real Madrid defeat Malaga 4-0, scoring in the match, when a journalist approached him and Expósito as they walked hand in hand towards his car. She referred to Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez’s marriage before asking whether Mbappé and Expósito would be next. The France captain replied that he wished the couple well, but did not answer the question about his own relationship. He then said good night and closed the car door while further questions continued.

The pair’s relationship has attracted sustained attention since their first appearances together. A trip to Sardinia in May also caused debate around Real Madrid, after Mbappé was seen in Cagliari during a league weekend in which the club was playing. He had suffered a left-thigh injury at the end of April and had been cleared by the Madrid medical staff to travel, but the sighting led to confusion among supporters and inside the squad.

The latest incident again placed Mbappé’s personal life alongside his footballing activity, despite his contribution to Real Madrid’s 4-0 result.
