Lamine Coly joins Sochaux through Guédiawaye link

Lamine Coly has become the first player to move through the new development pathway linking the Espoirs de Guédiawaye academy with FC Sochaux-Montbéliard. The Senegalese defender leaves the Guédiawaye side to join Sochaux’s training centre, opening a new stage in his football education in France.

Born in 2008, Coly arrives after serving as captain of the Espoirs de Guédiawaye and helping the team earn promotion to Nationale 2. His next objective is to continue developing within Sochaux’s academy and gradually move towards the professional game.

The move follows a partnership between the two organisations that will run until 2032. The agreement is designed to expand cooperation in youth development and the identification of Senegalese talent, while giving Guédiawaye players access to a professional training environment in France.

Sochaux president Clément Valvez and Espoirs de Guédiawaye president Ousmane Wade were present when the partnership was formalised. Coly is the first young player to take the route created by the agreement, making his move an early test of the relationship between the Senegalese academy and the French club.
