Mamadou Kaly Sène decisive on Young Boys first start

Mamadou Kaly Sène made a decisive impact on his first start of the season for Young Boys, helping the Bern club remain at the top of the Swiss Super League. The Senegalese forward scored once and created another goal in his first appearance in the starting XI since joining the team.

Young Boys beat Vaduz 4-2 at home. Sène set up Joël Monteiro for the opening goal in the fourth minute, but Vaduz later brought the match level. The forward then restored Young Boys’ lead in the 37th minute with an acrobatic finish.

Sène was substituted in the 68th minute, with Young Boys ahead 3-2. His side went on to score again and complete the victory. The result took Young Boys to 10 points and maintained their excellent start to the campaign, while Sène’s direct contribution gave him an early landmark moment after his arrival in Bern.

The 25-year-old joined Young Boys from Middlesbrough at the beginning of August and is returning to a Swiss league he already knows. Before his move to England, he played for Lausanne-Sport, Basel and Grasshopper. His next match will be against Basel on Saturday at 18:30, bringing a meeting with his former club and Senegalese compatriot Assane Sow.
