Mansour Samb stays top scorer for La Roche-sur-Yon

Mansour Samb has scored six times in four Ligue 3 matches after finding the net against US Orléans.

Mansour Samb has strengthened his position at the top of the Ligue 3 scoring standings after scoring again for La Roche-sur-Yon. The Senegalese forward has now found the net in each of the club’s first four league matches, underlining his importance to their early-season campaign.

Samb struck in the 50th minute against US Orléans during the fourth round, taking his personal total to six goals. The match was still in progress when he scored, meaning he had further time to increase his tally before the final whistle. His latest goal also gave La Roche-sur-Yon the advantage in the game at that stage.

The forward opened his campaign with a hat-trick in the 3-2 win over Versailles. He followed that performance by scoring the only goal in a 1-0 victory against Amiens, then contributed in the 1-1 draw with Cannes in the third round. Across those four fixtures, Samb has therefore scored six of La Roche-sur-Yon’s goals and has remained the leading scorer in the competition.

His form gives La Roche-sur-Yon a consistent attacking outlet as the season progresses. The goal against Orléans extended a sequence that has produced three different types of contribution: a decisive hat-trick, a winning goal and a strike in a draw, before his latest effort put his side ahead in the fourth-round contest.
