Micao Ma Fierté opens sixth edition with 24 teams
The Micao Ma Fierté maracana tournament has begun in Yopougon-Micao, with 24 teams pursuing the TBO Fraternity Trophy.
The sixth edition of Micao Ma Fierté is under way in Yopougon-Micao, bringing 24 teams into competition for the TBO Fraternity Trophy. The maracana tournament is again using sport and culture to promote fraternity, social cohesion and peaceful relations among young people.
Bafing FC Junior won the opening match at the Saint-Raphaël ground on Saturday, 22 August 2026, defeating FC Mexique 1-0. Bouba scored the only goal as the team in sky blue and white began its campaign with a victory over opponents wearing green-striped shirts.
The tournament is organised by the Fraternité Téné Birahima Ouattara movement and carries the theme “Cultural exchange, a guarantee of lasting peace.” Soumahoro Mamadou, president of the Maison des transporteurs de Côte d’Ivoire, performed the ceremonial kickoff and linked the event’s message to social unity and development.
The opening ceremony also gave young people from Micao a platform to recognise Vice-President Téné Birahima Ouattara, the event’s lifetime patron. Their representatives praised his work for local communities over the past five years and expressed continued support for his national initiatives. The competition will continue as the 24 sides pursue the fraternity trophy.
