Mory Diaw set to leave Le Havre for Al-Shabab

Mory Diaw is leaving Le Havre after losing his starting role and is set to join Saudi Pro League club Al-Shabab.

Mory Diaw is set to leave Le Havre AC and continue his career in Saudi Arabia with Al-Shabab. The move follows the Senegal international goalkeeper’s loss of his starting place at the French club, where he is now no longer the first-choice option.

Diaw, 33, was on the bench as Le Havre opened their Ligue 1 campaign with a 1-0 defeat by Monaco on August 23. He had joined Le Havre from Clermont Foot during the 2025-26 season, after previous spells with Rodez AF and Lausanne-Sport. The goalkeeper holds Senegalese and French nationality and is valued at €900,000.

At Al-Shabab, Diaw is expected to share the squad with young Senegalese forward Mamadou Thierno Barry and Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey. His arrival will also place him in the Saudi Pro League alongside several fellow Senegal internationals, including Edouard Mendy, Sadio Mane, Kalidou Koulibaly, Abdoulaye Seck, Idrissa Gueye and Abdou Diallo. Diaw, an African champion, will therefore remain within a league that already includes a significant Senegalese presence while seeking a new role after his reduced status in Normandy.
