Moussa Ndiaye nears Werder Bremen move in Bundesliga

Moussa Ndiaye is close to joining Werder Bremen, with Anderlecht in advanced talks after his Bundesliga 2 loan.

Moussa Ndiaye is edging towards a return to Germany, with Werder Bremen now leading the race for the Senegalese left-back. Anderlecht and the Bundesliga club are in advanced discussions over a move, putting Werder ahead of Schalke 04, who had also shown strong interest in the defender.

Ndiaye, 24, remains under contract with Anderlecht until 2028. He returned to the Belgian club after spending last season in Germany’s second tier with Schalke, where he made 14 appearances and supplied two assists. His performances there kept him on the radar of several clubs and opened the possibility of another move to Germany.

The defender had featured for Anderlecht at the start of the current season, including in their Europa League qualifying campaign. He played in the second leg against Hammarby, a 3-1 Anderlecht victory, and started the first meeting with PAOK, which ended 1-0, before also appearing in the return match as Anderlecht won 3-2.

If the negotiations are completed, Ndiaye would remain in Germany but step up from the Bundesliga 2 level to the Bundesliga with Werder Bremen. The transfer would also end his latest spell at Anderlecht despite the remaining years on his contract.
