Naty Potira mourned by Neymar and Santos after death

Santos and Neymar are mourning Naty Potira, a prominent supporter whose football content built a large following in Brazil. The club announced her death on Instagram, while Neymar shared a tribute video recalling their meetings and her messages during her illness.

Potira was 39 and had more than 468,000 Instagram followers. She used the platform to express her support for Santos and Brazil’s national team, regularly speaking about Neymar. She had been diagnosed with cervical cancer three years ago and died after her battle with the disease.

Supporters and Santos employees gathered Monday for a wake held at the club’s youth-team facilities. The club remembered Potira as a committed fan who took part in numerous Santos activities and helped promote breast-cancer-awareness initiatives during Pink October, a cause she consistently supported.

Potira was also a flight attendant, and her enthusiasm made her a familiar figure among Santos supporters, particularly at Vila Belmiro. Neymar’s video included images from their final meeting and from her treatment period. Santos said her affection for the club and the happiness she brought to those around her would remain part of its memory.
