Paris Basketball revive EuroLeague season against Zalgiris

Paris Basketball secured its first EuroLeague win of the season, beating Zalgiris Kaunas 82-78 in Paris.

Paris Basketball have put their EuroLeague campaign back on track with a first victory of the season. The French champions entered the third round without a win after defeats by Panathinaikos away and Partizan Belgrade at home. Another loss would have left the team facing early pressure, but the result against Zalgiris Kaunas provided a needed response.

Paris prevailed 82-78 at the Adidas Arena in a close game. Zalgiris arrived with one win and one defeat from its opening two matches, while Paris had been 0-2. The victory moved the Parisians to 1-2 after three rounds and gave supporters their first home celebration of the campaign.

Nadir Hifi led Paris with 21 points and was named the game’s best player. TJ Warren added 14 points, while Hifi was particularly influential late in the contest. After Zalgiris reduced the gap to one point, the Paris guard struck from long range, restored a three-point advantage and later converted a free throw to create a two-possession lead.

Allan Dokossi also made a decisive contribution with a block on Zalgiris’ Carsen Edwards, who scored 19 points. Léo Cavalière helped force fouls on the Lithuanian side, including one involving Marius Grigonis, as Paris held on for its opening EuroLeague success.
