Sébastien Loeb to End Dacia Rally-Raid Adventure

Sébastien Loeb’s partnership with Dacia is coming to an end as the Romanian marque prepares to leave rally-raid competition. The nine-time world rally champion joined the project when Dacia entered the WRC in October 2024, but the programme will now conclude after the team’s remaining opportunities this season.

Loeb will lead Dacia into the Rally of Morocco, which runs from Monday until October 3. He currently tops the World Rally-Raid Championship standings, with teammate Nasser al-Attiyah close behind in another Sandrider. The position gives Loeb a strong reason to pursue a successful finish before the manufacturer’s departure.

The end of the programme follows Renault Group’s February decision to reduce its involvement in several championships, including endurance racing and rally-raid. Dacia won last year’s Dakar with al-Attiyah, but the team is now targeting a final strong showing in Morocco and potentially at the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge.

That second event is scheduled for November 22-27, although its place on the calendar remains uncertain because of the tense geopolitical situation in the Middle East. Loeb has made clear that he wants to finish the project positively, with recognition for the team members who have kept it running through its final races.
