UBB: Woki trains as Bielle-Biarrey sits out

Cameron Woki returned to UBB training, while Louis Bielle-Biarrey was absent ahead of Stade Français.

Bordeaux-Bègles could have Cameron Woki available for next weekend’s Top 14 meeting with Stade Français, while Louis Bielle-Biarrey’s status is less certain after he missed the visible part of Wednesday’s training session. The developments come as UBB prepare to respond to their heavy defeat at Toulouse and close the third round of the championship at home.

Woki, who scored twice against Racing 92 in the opening round, was left out of the Toulouse match because of a hand injury. He returned to the field at Stade André-Moga on Wednesday and trained with the group, although his left hand was still bandaged. His participation suggests he could be considered for selection against Stade Français.

Bielle-Biarrey did not take part in the opening ten minutes available for observation, alongside Boris Palu and Pierre Bochaton. The international wing may therefore be rested, although UBB’s need to recover from the Toulouse loss could influence the decision. Rohan Janse van Rensburg and Jean-Luc du Preez remained on the margins as they continue their respective recoveries from an ankle injury and concussion. UBB also remain short of front-row options, with four absences involving injury, international duty or suspension.
