Zinedine Zidane's France salary and bonuses revealed

Zinedine Zidane’s contract as France coach places greater emphasis on results at major tournaments than on payments linked to individual international matches. The agreement gives him the same fixed monthly salary as his predecessor, Didier Deschamps, while offering the possibility of larger bonuses at the European Championship and the World Cup.

Zidane earns €300,000 gross per month, equivalent to 196,787,100 CFA francs. The figure matches Deschamps’s fixed remuneration after the former France coach’s departure and Zidane’s appointment to the post.

The main difference concerns image-rights payments. Zidane chose not to receive the allowance that was paid after each France match under Deschamps, when it was worth about €44,000 per game. The decision means he gives up a regular source of income, but avoids obligations connected to the national team’s commercial partners.

That arrangement is linked to Zidane’s own sponsorship commitments, including his partnership with Adidas, while France’s kit supplier is Nike. In place of the match-based payments, the French Football Federation has agreed to more substantial tournament bonuses. Zidane’s earnings can therefore rise significantly if France performs well at the sport’s biggest competitions.
