Abdoulaye Fall remains FSF president after TAS ruling
TAS sends Mady Touré’s challenge back for review, but does not cancel the FSF election or name him president.
Abdoulaye Fall remains the elected president of the Senegalese Football Federation after the Court of Arbitration for Sport sent Mady Touré’s challenge back for reconsideration. The ruling has not transferred the presidency to Touré, nor has it cancelled the election results.
Touré had challenged the election outcome before the FSF appeals commission before taking the case to the TAS. The sports tribunal accepted his appeal on procedural grounds and instructed the federation’s appeals body to examine the case again. That decision gives Touré’s campaign a significant legal opening, but it does not settle the dispute in his favour.
The FSF appeals commission must now issue a fresh decision after reviewing the file. Until a later ruling legally changes the election outcome, Fall continues to hold the status of elected federation president. The two camps can therefore point to different gains: Fall retains the result, while Touré has secured another review of his complaint.
The dispute may continue beyond the next federation decision. If the outcome does not satisfy Touré, he could return to the TAS if the applicable regulations allow another appeal. For now, the tribunal has advanced the challenge without declaring a winner, leaving the final outcome of the FSF election contest unresolved.
