Adama Diop strengthens rise with Sabanov TKO

Adama Diop has strengthened his international standing after defeating Zaurbek Sabanov by second-round TKO. The Senegalese fighter’s latest success adds another significant result to his professional career and supports his ambitions beyond the French MMA scene.

The bout at Meta APEX began with both men committing to exchanges on their feet. Sabanov was active from the opening stages and repeatedly looked to take the initiative, but Diop gradually established control of the contest. The Senegalese fighter increased his pressure as the fight developed and found greater success in the exchanges.

Diop produced the decisive sequence in the second round. He forced Sabanov back towards the cage before landing a sustained series of strikes. The referee stopped the contest after two minutes and 13 seconds of that round, giving Diop the victory by technical knockout.

The result carries added weight because Sabanov had won each of his previous five professional fights. Diop therefore handed the Russian his first defeat while improving his own record to seven victories and one loss. The Senegalese fighter, a former Hexagone MMA heavyweight champion, had recently been announced for a fight on Dana White’s Contender Series. His performance against Sabanov gives his international campaign another firm step forward.
