AG-AL's Gwen blocks Falcons' EWC three-peat bid

AG-AL secured the Esports World Cup Club Championship after French Trackmania player Gwen won the decisive final, ending Falcons’ attempt to claim the title for a third straight year. The Chinese organisation therefore takes the overall crown, while the Saudi structure finishes runner-up.

Falcons held a 500-point advantage going into Trackmania, the last of four games still relevant to the standings. Their seven-time world champion Carl Jr fell in the quarter-finals without adding points. AG-AL’s Blinkss also went out at that stage, but Gwen reached the final and delivered the result his team needed. The victory secured AG-AL €7 million, compared with €5 million for Falcons.

The final standings placed Vitality third and Natus Vincere fourth. Vitality’s Pac finished third in Trackmania, ahead of NaVi’s mime, which settled that part of the championship race. AG-AL’s title came after the Chinese organisation recovered 200 points on CrossFire, while Falcons also added 200 in Counter-Strike 2. Neither team gained points from Fortnite, leaving Trackmania to decide whether Falcons would complete a third consecutive Club Championship win.
