Amsatou Diouf shines as Senegal open UFOA-A U17

Amsatou Diouf supplied two assists and Aliou Dieye impressed as Senegal beat Mauritania 4-0 in the U17 opener.

Senegal began their UFOA-A U17 campaign with two emerging players making immediate claims for attention. Amsatou Diouf influenced the attack while Aliou Dieye delivered a composed first appearance for the national team in the 4-0 victory over Mauritania on 7 September.

Diouf, the Diambars forward, created Senegal’s opening goal in the 35th minute by setting up Cheikh Oumar Sy. He added another assist after the break, using a header to provide Souleymane Commissaire Faye with the chance to score. His performance ended in the 58th minute, but by then he had already become central to Senegal’s attacking display.

Dieye also left the match at the same time, replaced by Arona Diallo of United Académie. The Inter de Dakar defender started at right-back in his first outing for Senegal, combining his defensive work with forward runs and useful deliveries from corners and throw-ins. He played alongside Cheikh Thior, Ibrahima Camara and Ibrahima Gassama as Senegal kept a clean sheet, with Assane Sarr in goal.

The result gives Lamine Sané’s team a positive opening to the tournament. Diouf’s creativity and Dieye’s reliable debut strengthen the early impression that both players can contribute as Senegal’s campaign continues.
