Arène nationale adopts QR codes to replace paper tickets

The National Arena in Senegal is set to end paper ticketing for wrestling events promoted by Albourakh Events, replacing physical entry passes with QR codes. The change will remove the long queues at ticket windows and introduce a fully digital access system for the promoter’s events.

Baye Ndiaye, the head of Albourakh Events, announced the change ahead of the new wrestling season. From this season, spectators attending his shows will no longer receive printed tickets. Entry will instead be controlled through a QR code.

The system will make its debut on 11 October at the National Arena, when Mor Kang Kang faces Talfa in the programme opening the season. The event will therefore be the first test of the new process at the venue.

The decision changes both the way tickets are sold and how fans enter the arena. For Albourakh Events, electronic tickets will replace paper passes for its wrestling events, with the QR code becoming the required form of access. The announcement concerns the promoter’s shows and does not establish that the same arrangement will apply to every event held at the National Arena.
