beIN Sports broadens rights after losing Ligue 1 and Liga

beIN Sports will rely on basketball, handball, tennis and football rights after losing Ligue 1 and La Liga.

beIN Sports will maintain a broad sports offering in France for its 15th season, despite losing the rights to Ligue 1 and La Liga. The channel is placing greater emphasis on basketball, handball and tennis, while retaining a substantial football portfolio and coverage beyond the sport.

Its main properties include basketball’s EuroLeague, featuring Paris and Tony Parker’s ASVEL, as well as the Champions League in handball. French national teams in both disciplines will also remain part of the channel’s coverage. Tennis programming includes Wimbledon, the WTA circuit and international team competitions.

Football viewers will still have access to Ligue 2, the Coupe de France from the entry of Ligue 1 clubs in the round of 64, and the Bundesliga. The Turkish Süper Lig, Portugal’s Liga, England’s Carabao Cup and Championship, and the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations are also included. The tournament is scheduled for next summer.

The package extends to the NBA, WNBA, NFL, MLB, NHL and NCAA, alongside France’s men’s top volleyball division and rugby’s Champions Cup and Challenge Cup. beIN Sports is also included in Canal+’s Sport package, giving the broadcaster an additional distribution route as it rebuilds its offer around rights outside Ligue 1 and La Liga.
