Boromo camp closes fourth football and IT edition
Boromo’s fourth holiday camp has ended after training 103 children in football, computing and civic values.
The fourth edition of Boromo’s football and information technology holiday camp has ended, continuing an initiative that combines sports training with digital education and citizenship lessons for children in Balé. The programme ran from 13 July to 20 August 2026 at the provincial high school ground and was aimed at participants aged between five and 16.
A total of 103 children took part, including 93 boys and 10 girls. Football fundamentals were taught in the mornings, while the evening sessions introduced the campers to computing. The organisers said the camp also sought to develop teamwork, mutual respect, excellence and patriotism alongside sporting skills.
The closing ceremony on 20 August included parents, administrative, traditional and religious authorities, as well as representatives of other sports clubs. An aerobics session and demonstrations were led by coaches Emmanuel D. Ki and Inoussa Zongo, both recognised professionals of the Confederation of African Football. The children received certificates at the end of the ceremony.
The camp was organised with support from Vackess and the Centre omnisports espoir de Boromo. Mahamadi Ouédraogo, president of the organising committee, thanked those who contributed to the event and announced plans for a fifth edition next year. Rachelle Millogo, head of Henia Market and patron for the fourth consecutive year, urged the organisers to establish the camp as a lasting sports platform.
