Celta Vigo host Athletic Bilbao in Liga broadcast test

Celta Vigo and Athletic Club meet in the third round of LaLiga with both sides looking to improve difficult starts. Celta are 14th with one point from two matches, while Athletic sit 19th without a point. The result will therefore carry early significance for two teams still searching for their first league victory.

The match is scheduled for Sunday, August 30, at 21:30 at Balaídos. It will be available live and via streaming on DAZN and Disney+.

Celta’s recent form has been mixed but unbeaten in the five matches listed before this fixture: draws against Académico Viseu, SC Braga and Athletic, alongside wins over Sporting Gijón and Sevilla. Their latest listed meeting with Athletic ended 1-1. Athletic’s sequence includes draws with Eibar and Celta, wins against Sestao River, Leioa and Derio, and a 4-2 defeat by Real Madrid.

The Galician side will have home advantage as they try to convert their one-point start into a stronger position. Athletic arrive with no league points after two games, despite several wins in their wider recent run, leaving both clubs under pressure to make the third-round fixture count.
