Cesc Fabregas wins Serie A coach award at Como
Cesc Fabregas has been voted Serie A's best coach after guiding Como to fourth place and Champions League qualification.
Cesc Fabregas has been named Serie A’s best coach for the 2025-26 season, giving Como another major recognition after a campaign that secured the club a place among Europe’s elite. The award also marks a significant early milestone for the Spaniard, who began his coaching career at Como in 2023, only months after retiring as a player.
Fabregas received the honour at the 2026 Gran Galà del Calcio AIC. His selection follows Como’s fourth-place finish in the Italian championship, a position that earned the club qualification for the Champions League. Como had not been considered among the likely teams to reach that level only a few months earlier, making the final standings a major step in the club’s development.
The coach has built his project around young players such as Nico Paz and continued to pursue an ambitious recruitment strategy. Moise Kean was one of the promising signings brought into that plan. The award therefore reflects both the result achieved in the league and the direction Fabregas has established at Como.
For the club, the honour underlines the scale of its progress and the growing ambitions attached to the project. For Fabregas, it confirms his influence after a rapid transition from the pitch to the dugout. His first coaching post has already produced a top-four finish, Champions League qualification and recognition as the leading coach in Serie A for the season.
