Dame Fall announces final Free Jump world appearance

Dame Fall will compete at the Free Jump World Championships for the final time on Thursday 8 October, closing a decade at the highest level of the discipline. The Senegalese roller athlete will step away from elite Free Jump competition after the event, but plans to remain active in roller sport and contribute in a different role.

Fall has won five world championships during his career. His first global title came in 2017, after which he took silver in 2019. He returned to the top in 2022 and followed that victory with three successive titles in 2023, 2024 and 2025. His honours also include two African championships, both earned in 2016, along with several world records.

The decision reflects the difficulty of maintaining the demands of top-level competition alongside his responsibilities as a father, his professional life and other projects. Training, technical preparation, nutrition and recovery all require sustained commitment. Fall has said the discipline taught him through failure and setbacks, while also giving him the determination to continue improving.

His relationship with roller sport will continue beyond Free Jump. He wants to help develop the next generation by passing on his experience, and intends to keep competing in Skate Cross, which he considers less demanding in terms of time. The October championship will therefore close his Free Jump chapter, rather than end his involvement in the sport.
