Portugal take sole lead after beating Norway in Oslo

Portugal moved to the top of Nations League Group 4 with a second successive victory, strengthening their position after an important away win in Oslo. The result leaves them alone on six points, while Norway remain in second on goal difference ahead of Denmark. Cristiano Ronaldo stayed on the bench for the entire match.

Portugal won 2-1 through goals from Joao Felix and Goncalo Ramos. Felix opened the scoring in the 17th minute after Pedro Neto created the chance, before Erling Haaland levelled six minutes after half-time. Ramos restored Portugal’s advantage three minutes later, taking advantage of a poor clearance by goalkeeper Orjan Nyland.

Norway had more possession and produced more attempts during the first half, but Portugal were more efficient in front of goal. Haaland’s equaliser came after the hosts recovered a free-kick in the area, yet their response was quickly undone by Nyland’s misplaced pass. Ramos later appeared to score again, but the effort was ruled out for offside after a VAR review.

Portugal will try to extend their lead when they visit Denmark on Thursday. Norway face Wales on the same day, with both teams seeking to improve their position in the group.
