Desagana Diop trims Senegal squad for 2027 qualifiers
Senegal coach Desagana Diop has cut three players, leaving 14 in contention for 12 places ahead of the fourth window.
Senegal will enter the fourth window of the 2027 World Cup qualifiers with a narrowed squad, as coach Desagana Diop reduces his provisional group from 17 players to 14. The final roster will contain 12 names, making the next selection decision the key step before the games begin on Thursday.
Karim Mané, Kara Sène and Samba Dali Fall are the three players left out of the latest group. Their removal leaves two more players to be omitted before the definitive list is announced in the coming hours.
The revised squad includes Mouhamadou Guèye, who plays for Valencia. He joins a group featuring guards Brancou Badio, Babacar Diallo, Jean-Jacques Boissy and Pape Ibrahima Ndiaye, along with forwards Pape Moustapha Diop, Mbaye Ndiaye, Ibrahima Fall Faye and Amar Sylla. The frontcourt options are Ibou Dianko Badji, Gora Camara, Amadou Wade, Atoumane Diagne and Mohamed Faye.
Diop’s changes provide the clearest indication yet of the group he will rely on for the fourth qualifying window. With 14 players still involved for 12 places, competition remains for the final two positions before Senegal’s campaign resumes.
