Diane Parry enters WTA Top 50 after Cincinnati run

Diane Parry has moved into the WTA’s Top 50 for the first time since June, strengthening her position as France’s leading-ranked woman. Her rise follows a second appearance in the last 16 of a WTA 1000 event, confirming the progress shown during her recent run of results.

The Parisian, who is approaching her 24th birthday, is now ranked 50th in the standings published on Monday, August 24, with 1,113 points. She gained 16 places after her Cincinnati campaign and is only three positions behind the career-best ranking of 47 that she reached in June. Parry is currently the only French player inside the WTA Top 100.

She will have a chance to add to her total at this week’s WTA 500 tournament in Monterrey. Parry failed to get through qualifying there last year, meaning the tournament offers her an opportunity to collect points without defending a previous main-draw result.

Loïs Boisson also made progress in the latest rankings after reaching the last 16 in Ohio. She climbed 45 places to 236th and is now France’s 10th-ranked player. At the top, Aryna Sabalenka retained first place with 8,575 points, 434 ahead of Elena Rybakina, while Cincinnati champion Coco Gauff rose to fourth behind Jessica Pegula.
