Arthur Fils rises to 11th after Cincinnati triumph

Arthur Fils has reached a career-best 11th place in the ATP rankings after winning the Cincinnati Masters 1000. The rise moves him to within 335 points of Taylor Fritz, who occupies the final place in the Top 10. Fils is now the fifth French player to win a tournament in the Masters 1000 category, following Guy Forget, Cédric Pioline, Sébastien Grosjean and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.

Fils entered the Ohio tournament ranked 21st and gained 10 places through his run to the title. He defeated Frances Tiafoe 6-3, 1-6, 6-0 in the final. The result also leaves him fifth in the ATP Race. He has no ranking points to defend through the end of the season and until February, while several players above him will have significant points at stake after the US Open.

Jannik Sinner remains world number one ahead of Alexander Zverev and Carlos Alcaraz. Félix Auger-Aliassime and Novak Djokovic complete the top five, while Flavio Cobolli has climbed to sixth, ahead of Alex de Minaur and Daniil Medvedev.

France also has Arthur Rinderknech and Ugo Humbert at 29th and 30th, with Luca Van Assche up eight places to a career-high 40th. Quentin Halys is 52nd, Corentin Moutet 62nd, Adrian Mannarino 68th and Valentin Royer 74th. Arthur Géa, Hugo Gaston and Terence Atmane occupy 86th, 88th and 90th.
