Diego Rolan offers help to Bordeaux in rebuild

Diego Rolan has offered his support to Bordeaux as the club begins rebuilding after the most serious crisis in its history. The former Girondins forward said he would be ready to contribute if his help could serve the club’s recovery, placing Bordeaux’s future ahead of any personal interests.

Bordeaux have been administratively relegated first to National 2 and then to Régional 1. Rolan, who represented the club from January 2013 until July 2018, expressed his desire to see the Girondins eventually return to France’s top division. He said that objective would require a credible, disciplined and lasting project.

The 33-year-old remains an active player with CS Cerrito in Uruguay’s second division. His offer came in a message posted on X, where he also underlined his attachment to Bordeaux, the city and the club’s supporters. Rolan presented the Girondins as an institution with a wider identity than its sporting results and said he would act with respect and commitment if given the opportunity to help.

The former Uruguay international’s intervention adds support from a player associated with Bordeaux’s recent past while the club faces a steep recovery from Régional 1. His message did not specify a role or any formal involvement, but made clear that he is available to assist the reconstruction.
