France Pierron returns as L’Équipe de choc reshapes

France Pierron is returning to L’Équipe de choc, but the programme will come back with a smaller regular team and a revised editorial identity. The show will now feature Pierre Bouby, Camille Maccali and Julien Aliane alongside its presenter.

The programme resumed on Monday as part of L’Équipe’s new season, while L’Équipe du soir is scheduled to return on Tuesday. Bouby had temporarily taken over presenting duties when Pierron was removed from the programme after controversy during the World Cup.

The dispute followed comments by Pierron about Jérémy Doku’s impending fatherhood. Her absence marked a break for the presenter and the programme, but L’Équipe’s editorial director Maël Seror said the episode was now considered over and that the team had prepared ideas for the relaunch.

For its fourth season, L’Équipe de choc is moving towards a magazine format rather than focusing only on its previous debate-led approach. Its content will include fashion, lifestyle, consumption and sports culture. The programme also plans links with L’Équipe’s newspaper and magazine, building on segments previously developed around the France team’s arrival at Clairefontaine.
