Guiglo Ouest, Zaké, Kaadé and Blao reach U15 semis

The four teams emerged from the group stage and will contest Sunday’s semi-finals in Guiglo.

Guiglo Ouest, Zaké, Kaadé and Blao have taken the four remaining places in the semi-finals of the Dominique Ouattara U15 departmental tournament in Guiglo. Their qualification leaves two matches to decide which teams will play for the title on 5 September.

The semi-final pairings are Kaadé against Guiglo Ouest and Zaké against Blao. Both matches are scheduled for Sunday, 23 August, at the Félix Houphouët-Boigny public square ground in Guiglo. The two winners will advance to the final, while the losing teams will meet in a third-place match.

Eight teams entered the competition and were divided into two groups. The top two sides in each group progressed to the last four after matches played on 21 and 22 August. The tournament final will also be held at the Guiglo venue.

The competition was opened on 21 August by N’Guessan Patrick Yapi, the first secretary-general of the prefecture, in the presence of the participating teams and their staff. The regional sports directorate is responsible for the technical organisation, supervision and support of the event. At the launch, participants were urged to show discipline and fair play, with the tournament intended to promote tolerance, fraternity and the identification of young football talent.
