Hamza Abdelkarim extends Barcelona contract to 2030

Barcelona have secured the long-term future of Hamza Abdelkarim, agreeing a contract extension with the Egyptian forward until June 2030. The 18-year-old joined the club’s Under-19 team last season and quickly established himself as one of the young players the Catalan club wanted to retain.

Abdelkarim had previously been tied to Barcelona until June 2029. His earlier agreement also contained a €15 million release clause, an amount regarded as accessible for a player attracting attention. The renewal gives the club a longer commitment from the forward as it works to protect one of its emerging talents from interest elsewhere.

The attacker’s progress moved into wider view during Barcelona’s summer preparations. He later made his official first-team debut against Rayo Vallecano, marking his move from the youth setup into senior football. He has also been selected by Egypt for the 2026 World Cup.

The new deal rewards a rapid rise for Abdelkarim, who arrived in Barcelona only last season and has since reached the first team and the national squad. For Barcelona, the agreement removes the immediate uncertainty around a player whose previous contract ran only to 2029 and confirms that the club sees him as part of its longer-term plans.
