Italy brings Next Gen Finals back for 2026 edition

The Next Gen Finals will return to Italy in 2026, with Reggio Calabria hosting the ATP youth event in December.

Italy will host the Next Gen Finals again in 2026, returning the ATP’s end-of-season event for leading young men’s players to the country where it began. The move gives Reggio Calabria a major tennis tournament and strengthens the partnership between the ATP and the Italian Tennis Federation (FITP).

The 2026 edition is scheduled for December 9-13 in Reggio Calabria, in southern Italy across from Sicily. The tournament was held in Milan from 2017 through 2022 before moving to Jeddah, which staged the last three editions. The agreement currently covers only the 2026 tournament.

Italy already stages the ATP Finals in Turin, in cooperation with the tour since 2021. The return of the Next Gen event extends that relationship while taking a high-profile competition beyond the country’s established tennis centres. Organisers also see Reggio Calabria’s selection as a way to use major tournaments to support development in different Italian regions.

The new champion will succeed Learner Tien, who won last year’s edition in Saudi Arabia after defeating Alexander Blockx. The tournament has become an early platform for players who later target the biggest events on the professional calendar.
