Jeanne d’Arc and ASFA set for Senegal Elite final

Jeanne d’Arc face ASFA in the men’s final, while ASC Diisoo and UGB meet for the women’s Elite title.

The Senegal Elite Handball Championship’s title pairings are now complete. Jeanne d’Arc will play ASFA for the men’s championship, while ASC Diisoo will meet UGB in the women’s final.

Jeanne d’Arc booked its place with a 36-27 victory over DUC in the men’s semi-finals. The result kept the Blue and White side on course for the title and ended the university team’s run in the competition.

ASFA needed extra time to settle its semi-final against UGB. The military side eventually won 33-32 in a closely fought contest, earning a final meeting with Jeanne d’Arc. The result also ended UGB’s challenge in the men’s competition, even though the club remains involved in the women’s title race.

ASC Diisoo reached the women’s final after beating Renaissance Handball Club of Tivaouane 23-21. UGB completed the line-up with a 32-27 win over Olympique de Diourbel. The results leave UGB with a chance to contest the women’s championship, while Jeanne d’Arc, ASFA and Diisoo each remain in contention for one title. The confirmed fixtures now bring the semi-final stage to a close and set up the two matches that will decide the Elite champions.
