Joao Felix wants European return after Al-Nassr revival

Joao Felix has made a return to European football one of his main ambitions after rebuilding his form at Al-Nassr and with Portugal. The 26-year-old forward said he is enjoying life in Saudi Arabia but still wants another opportunity to compete in Europe and play in the Champions League.

Felix’s recent performances have strengthened that objective. He was named the Saudi top-flight player of the 2025-26 season, then scored in Portugal’s opening Nations League matches against Wales and Norway. Portugal won 1-0 against Wales before beating Norway 2-1, giving Felix goals in both games.

The forward’s career had lost momentum after his high-profile move from Benfica to Atletico Madrid in 2019. Subsequent spells at Chelsea, Barcelona and Milan did not deliver the expected breakthrough, leaving him seeking consistency at Al-Nassr since his revival in 2025.

Felix has not set a firm date for his departure. He could consider a move after this season, after the next campaign or later, but his target is clear: he wants to test himself again against Europe’s leading clubs. He also believes establishing himself at that level would be important to avoid being viewed as a player who never fulfilled his potential.
