Kylian Mbappé ends Nike partnership for new On chapter

Kylian Mbappé has left Nike for Swiss brand On, calling the move part of a wider desire for change.

Kylian Mbappé has ended his long-running partnership with Nike and joined Swiss sportswear company On, marking a significant change in the France captain’s commercial career. The switch closes a relationship that began as his profile rose and places him at the start of a new project with the younger brand.

Mbappé described the move as part of a broader change in his life. He said his development has extended beyond his work as a footballer, with his outlook also changing as a person. The partnership with On therefore represents more than a change of supplier: it is intended to begin a fresh chapter and a different challenge.

A central attraction for Mbappé is the chance to participate in designing the products. On, established in 2010, is seeking to build its identity as an innovative company, and Mbappé wants to help shape that process from its early stages. He also views the role as a responsibility to create items that suit football supporters and his own fans.

The French forward will have Thierry Henry, On’s football director, as an ally in developing the project. The announcement comes after Mbappé’s brief international gathering ended early because of a knee injury sustained in the first match of Zinedine Zidane’s tenure in Turkey, a 1-0 victory.
